COVID Lockdown

Having started a week before the official Lockdown, I am coming to the end of four weeks' isolation.
Interesting times, not least for considering the arts and thinking about future planning for the gallery.

I'll share with you some of my own photographic reflections. We are coming to the end of our latest exhibition of work by Emily Powell. BRIGHT BUCOLIC BEAUTIES proved a popular show and we are delighted to have brought Emily to the attention of our buyers. My Gallerist's ART pick of the week is this great oil painting by JAMES STEWART ( London, New York, Devon) THE OLD POST OFFICE (Strete) is 87 x 75 cms SQ inc frame, it is Oil on board and it is a brilliant and witty homage to the old corner shop complete with contemporary Trump and Cornetto  jokes. £1650 and worth every cent!

CRICKET IN THE MIST is by Ashton Chadwick, (Falmouth, Royal Academy Schools post grad, one time head of Putney Art school. Oil on canvas and 27.5 cms SQ inc frame. It's £350

Just sold this fabulous little mezzotint print. LIGHTHOUSE by Sarah Gillespie is a beautiful rendering of the Lighthouse at Start Point in Devon UK. The mezzotint is one of the oldest forms of original printmaking, and represents hours of work with fantastic technique.
